FAET Electromagnetic Brake

FAET Electromagnetic Brake

The FAET electromagnetic brake is designed for applications where it is necessary to control the unwind tension, such as paper, fabric or cable reels.

The brake is made up of the coil core with the friction material and the rotor, which in turn is made up of the armature, the radiator and the hub.

By applying a variable voltage from 0 to 24 V d.c. the coil creates a magnetic field proportional to the voltage and consequently the braking torque can be regulated.

Description

The FAET electromagnetic brake is a positive brake, actuated by current. By establishing a DC voltage in the coil, a magnetic field is generated, so that the coil core with the friction-lining attracts the armature, resisting the rotation of the shaft.

When no power is supplied, the brake is released and the shaft can rotate freely.

Because this type of application generates a lot of heat, the FAET electromagnetic brake it has an aluminum radiator that provides great heat dissipation capacity.
